Description

A event organized by Robbie Mercer and Charlie Walker annually.

Stab-A-Thon (2009-2011) was an event held in Woodsboro, California to mark the anniversary of the 1996 Woodsboro Murders, which became the basis of the Stab slasher horror series. The event was founded by the Woodsboro High Cinema Club as a Stab movie marathon and drinking party organised by club president Charlie Walker and vice president Robbie Mercer. The third annual Stab-A-Thon took place at Fort Dillon Road in September 2011.[1]

History[]

Background[]

The Stab-A-thon began when Charlie and Robbie were 16-year-old sophomores at Woodsboro High in 2009. During the first annual Stab-A-thon, they watched the first six Stab films back-to-back, as Stab 7 starring Kristen Bell was not released until 2010.

During the second annual Stab-A-Thon, they watched all seven Stab films back-to-back. This tradition was supposed to continue with the third annual Stab-a-thon, but did not due to the Woodsboro Remake Murders.

Scream 4[]

The Woodsboro High School students of 2011 attend Stab-a-Thon where all seven Stab films would be shown. Gale wears a Ghostface mask to blend in, and hides cameras around the place. She intended to view the party through a webcam believing the killer would turn up.

The true Ghostface shows up and covers the cameras. Given the timing of the camera coverings, it is likely that both Charlie and Jill operated here. Gale goes back inside only to get stabbed by Ghostface (most likely Jill). Dewey saves her and the teenagers run away from the scene. Kirby goes home to watch the Stab films with Jill, Robbie and Charlie (though Trevor also shows up).

Trivia[]

  • In real life, the town of Texarkana, Arkansas has a screening of The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976) around Halloween every year. The film is a fictional take on the real-life Texarkana Moonlight Murders, just like the Stab movies would be to the town of Woodsboro. (Sidney also references this in the original).
  • Jill Roberts pretended she would not attend, due to Olivia Morris' murder. However, given she was aware of Gale's injury, it is likely she was in fact there.
  • The attendants are invited through email.
  • Samantha Carpenter (born 1997) would have been a freshman in high school, age 14, during the third Stab-a-thon. It is possible, though unlikely, she was an attendant.
