Dana Elaine Owens, better known by her stage name as Queen Latifah, is an American actress, executive producer, singer, comedian, model and talk show hostess, known for Bessie (2015), Brotherly Love (2015), Hairspray (2007) and Living Single (1993).
Synopsis
Famed musician and actress Queen Latifah was born on March 18, 1970, in Newark, New Jersey. Her debut album All Hail to the Queen sold more than 1 million copies, and the single "U.N.I.T.Y." earned Latifah her first Grammy Award. Latifah has also garnered acclaim for acting, earning her first Oscar nomination (best supporting actress) for her performance in the 2002 blockbuster musical Chicago.
On April 26, 2017, MTV announced that Latifah will be an executive producer for the third season of the television horror series Scream. The show will undergo a reboot with a new cast, setting and Brett Matthews serving as show runner. In addition, Shakim Compere and Yaneley Arty will also be credited as executive producers for the series under Flavor Unit Entertainment.
