Scream is an American Horror/Slasher television series that premiered on MTV on June 30, 2015. The series is a television adaptation of the slasher film series of the same name.

On December 11th, 2014, it was revealed that Shake It Up's Bella Thorne will be part of the show. The actress confirmed this on a Yahoo! Celebrity fan chat by saying the following, "Yes it is true. I will re-enact the famous scene of Drew Barrymore in the original series." She will play the character Nina Patterson.
Bella Thorne declined an offer to be the lead role in the Scream tv series, as she feels like a role as the opening kill is too iconic to pass up, even if she only has a small part and dies early on.
On February 2nd, 2015, it was revealed that the Pilot was entitled Red Roses and was to focus on Noah (John Karna), who is based on the Scream movies Randy (played by Jaime Kennedy).
On February 22nd, 2015, it was confirmed that Joel Gretsch, who was playing Sheriff Clark Hudson, had left the show as producers thought his character should go down a different path. So far, there is no word on who is replacing him.
On March 27th, 2015, rumours emerged that the title of the TV series was changed from Scream to Hush. Co-writer and producer Jaime Paglia took to Twitter to confirm the show is still called Scream. Speculations was it could of gotten confused with Scream Queens or casting agencies were trying to avoid any press catching the casting calls.
The first trailer was released by Bella Thorne on the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 12th, 2015.
It was announced on June 3rd, 2012, that former MTV network executives, Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley, are looking for someone to write a pilot for a potential series based on the Scream series.
In 2013, it was reported, that Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin of Criminal Minds fame had been hired to write the script for the pilot episode.
Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor Klaus, John Karna, Carlson Young and Amadeus Serafini have been cast as lead roles.
It was revealed on October 3rd, 2014 that Ghostface will not be a part of the TV Series. 
It was revealed that Scream TV Series would use a more organic, darker Mask. 
Executive producer Bob Weinstein is excited about the new mask, because it has a reason for being, instead of being a mass-produced Halloween mask that caught Craven's eye, like the original one was. "The [new] mask itself plays a story element, and that is different from Scream the movie," Weinstein said, "It ties in specifically to the story. The mask has an importance; it's not a mask for mask's sake." 
Scream TV series casts True Blood star Amelia Rose Blaire (She played a character named Willa Burrell; Eric Northman's vampire progeny). The actress will recur on Scream as Piper Shaw, a podcast host who decides to investigate the string of murders dominating the town. Her character seems to resemble Gale Weathers from the original film.
Bryan Batt has been cast to play, Quinn Maddox. the mayor of Lakewood and father to Brooke Maddox.
Mike Vaughn is set to voice the killer in the Scream (TV Series).

Filming for Season 1 wrapped up on July 19th, 2015. 
On July 29th, 2015, MTV confirmed that Scream was renewed for a second season. 
Filming for the second season began on February 16th and concluded in early July 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana. 
On April 25, 2016, MTV revealed six new promotional posters for the second season.
On May 2nd, 2016, MTV revealed the official trailer for the second season 2. In an online Q&A on the official Facebook page of the series with Bex Taylor-Klaus and John Karna, it was revealed the season will have 14 episodes.
On May 13th, 2016, MTV revealed the first 7 minutes of the premiere episode of the second season during a live-stream with Tom Maden.
On August 17th, 2016, Netflix and MTV confirmed two special halloween episodes that will air October 18th.
On October 14th, 2016, MTV confirmed that Scream was renewed for a third season. 
On April 26, 2017, MTV announced that they were rebooting the series with the third season, with a new cast and setting. The third season is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2018. As part of the reboot process, it was revealed that Brett Matthews will be serving as the main showrunner. In addition, Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere and Yaneley Arty will be added as executive producers for the series under Flavor Unit Entertainment. 
On July 17th, 2017, MTV announced that rappers Tyga and C.J. Wallace were casted as a series regular for the third season, as well for their character descriptions. 
On July 19th, 2017, Hollywood Reporter announced that the show will transition into an anthology series in the third season. This information was corroborated by MTV president, Chris McCarthy. 
On September 18th, 2017, it was announced by Bloody Disgusting that the Ghostface mask from the film series would be making an appearance in the third season. 
On September 21st, it was confirmed via a twitter post that Jeremy Zuckerman would return to compose the soundtrack for the third season.
On September 25th, 2017, it was announced by MTV that Tyler Posey was cast in a series regular role in the third season. 
On October 10th, 2017, Keke Palmer confirmed in an interview that Roger L. Jackson would be returning to voice Ghostface in the third season. 
To promote the third season, MTV released a website with fans wearing the Ghostface mask and father death costume. It was meant to be a Halloween surprise, but was released a day late, on November 1st. 
Filming for the third season began on September 18th and concluded on November 11th, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia. 
On November 13th, 2017, it was confirmed that William Scharpf would be playing as Ghostface in the third season of Scream. This information was corroborated by an online article, detailing the attendance of several cast members to a wrap-up party. The party that was held was to commemorate the end of filming production for the third season.
On February 2nd, 2018, Hollywood Reporter announced that Big Boi was cast in a recurring role in the third season.
On March 28, 2018, it was confirmed that Harvey Weinstein will not be credited as an executive producer in the third season of Scream. In addition, the show will not include The Weinstein Company or its logo on its credits from the third season onward, even though the company was formerly involved in the distribution of the series.
