Woodsboro is a small, fictional town in the Scream series located in California, USA.
Scream
It is the known residence of Sidney Prescott, Tatum Riley, Dewey Riley, Randy Meeks, Billy Loomis, Stu Macher, and Casey Becker. Even though Gale Weathers is a reporter in the Woodsboro area, it is not known whether she lives there or not, but it is still safe to say that she does. Since Sidney moved to Northern California in Scream 3 to get away from the horror of Woodsboro and filming was partly done in Sonoma County, it can be speculated that it is located in Southern California.
In Scream, it is where all the events take place as the killings in Scream 2 take place at Windsor College and the Scream 3 killings take place in the Hollywood area.
Scream 4
In Scream 4, It is home to all of the characters shown in the movie: Jill, Kirby, Charlie, Robbie, Kate, Trevor and more, including Sidney´s former school comrade, Judy Hicks, returning characters Gale and Dewey and, while in her stay in Woodsboro for her book tour, Sidney
On the 15 year anniversary of the Woodsboro Murders, Sidney returns to promote her book. The town looks the same besides some small renovations. The towns seems to "celebrate" or "honor" the murders that happened there. The town is decorated in Ghostface masks and their is a successful Stab a Thon hosted by Charlie and Robbie
Places in Woodsboro
In the first Scream film we see that it is home to Woodsboro High School, which the gang attends, a video store where Randy works, a police station where Dewey works, grocery stores, a community park, a coffee shop, other "Mom and Pop shops" and the infamous Towns Square. We can see this being proven during various times in the film.
Trivia
- Gale Weathers is not shown to reside here. When she converses with Dewey, she mentions the Sharon Stone stalker case in New York. Though has not been confirmed, Gale may have resided in New York.
